[For a small moment, Dahlia’s words shakes him more awake again and he tries to fight her, but the grip around his heart tightens even more and all his power vanishes. He sinks even more on the ground, supporting himself with one hand while the second one still holds his chest.
He wouldn’t be able to fight her much longer… he would die - again. Would disappoint his daughter, his fiancé, Maya, Godot, and everyone else. He would let them all down and he feels horrible about it.He hears a voice.
Even if he doesn’t hear words, he hears a voice and a sound and just a moment later, Dahlia’s spirit… disappears.Phoenix’ eyes snap open and he pants for air, just a few moments before he starts looking around. Maya lies next to him, her eyes open, her body cold… but he knows, she isn’t dead.
Her spirit left her body and now, she’s fighting Dahlia.Phoenix looks around. He knows, he can’t help her now and it makes him upset, freaks him nearly out.]
Maya… [He mumbles.] Fuck…
!!!!
With another scream, Dahlia lets go of Phoenix’s body and begins clawing at Maya’s astral projection. Her ghostly hand closes around the medium’s spirit as the other rips at Maya’s breast. She laughs cruelly, almost enjoying the fight.
And what do we have here, Mystic Maya? You’re really taking after me, aren’t you? Look—gyaaaaahh!!!! L-look how brutal you are.
Her own spirit is weakening—she can feel it. Sucking the life out of Phoenix’s body does nothing for her since she’s already dead; rather, it takes a lot of energy to cause that much pain, and she can feel her own power draining away.
Your mother would be so proud of you~
